The largest island of St Kilda islands that form the Outer Islands in Helena in the north-west Scotland is Hiort (English: Hirta). Sometimes, the name used on all islands.
The Hiort at 4 km wide from west to east, and its cliffs are so steep as diim but one bay, Bagh and 'Haile, can be landed there. Here was the old village, Am Baile.
People lived here until 1930; now belong to the army camp on it. The island is owned by National Trust for Scotland
